Israeli crosses musical borders

Aug 20, 2007

VietNamNews - One of Israel’s leading jazz musicians, Amir Gwirtzman, is to take the stage in Ha Noi tomorrow and on Wednesday.

As a founding member of ESTA, a band proclaimed by music critics as Israel’s most original instrumental jazz band, Gwirtzman has become one of Israel’s top jazz musicians over the last 20 years.

Amir and ESTA have performed in various prestigious festivals and highly respected venues not only in Israel but also throughout Europe and the US.

Their music is known for its unique combination of world music and rock, creating a powerful, energetic new sound that crosses genres, styles and borders.

As part of his work in the past ten years, the 42 year-old artist has given regular student workshops in the US, including various universities, colleges and high schools.

Gwirtzman will perform at 9pm in the Latino Bar, Melia Ha Noi Hotel, 44B Ly Thuong Kiet on Wednesday and one exclusive joint performance with the well-known Vietnamese jazz artist Quyen Van Minh at Minh’s Jazz Club, 31 Luong Van Can Street tomorrow at 9pm.
